Lectures are the primary tool for learning in the class. I will follow the book fairly closely but you are responsible for any material covered in class, even if it is not in the text.
You are required to have a graphing calculator for this course. The Texas Instruments TI-83, TI-83-plus, and TI-84 are the officially-supported calculators. You will be allowed to use this calculator for all homework and exams in this class.
There will be three exams in this class. Your final grade will be the weighted average of the three: Your two better exams are worth 40% each, your worst exam 20%. A tentative schedule for the exams is below:

Note also that we use an extended C range in Math 111. This means that grades are assigned according to the following scale:

Below are listed the sections numbers and homework problems for the semester, as well as the date each section is covered in class. Homework is not collected but it is essential for performing well in the class. It is best to review the material and try the homework for each section before the next lecture.
