Course description: This is a continuation of Math 121, covering topics in integration; techniques in integration; exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions; mean value theorem; Taylor's theorem and Taylor series; and infinite series.
Prerequisites: grade at least C- in Math 116 or Math 121.
Text: James Stewart. Calculus, early transcendentals, 6th Edition.
Topics covered: most of chapters 6-11.

• Integrals: areas between curves, volumes and work.
• Techniques of Integration: integration by parts, trigonometric integrals, integration of rational functions, approximation of integration and improper integrals.
• Further Applications of Integration: arc length and area of a surface of revolution.
• Differential Equations: modeliing with differential equations, separable and linear equations, and models for population growth.
• Parametric Equations and Polar Coordinates: curves defined by parametric equations, polar coordinates, areas and arc lengths in polar coordinates.
• Infinite Sequences and Series: sequences, series, the integral and comparison tests, alternating and power series, representation of function as power series, Taylor's polynomial and series, and absolute convergence.

Expected performance criteria: students should know the meaning of and how to compute basic integrations, be able to apply the mean value and Taylor's theorems, and understand the concept of infinite sequences and series.
Class/Lab schedule: Class meets MWF, 10:00-10:50AM. Lab meets on Tuesday or Thursday (check your session numbers!)

Relationship of course to ABET Program Outcomes: students will have the ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering.

Grading: your grade will be based on the total sum of your scores on 3 mid-term tests, weekly quizzes, and the final.

• Mid-terms: 15% each.
• Quizzes: 20% in total.
• Final: 35%.
