The Department of Mathematics of Tulane University has an opening for a full professor in the area of applied or computational mathematics to fill the John and Evelyn Phillips Chair in Mathematics. The appointment will be made beginning on July 1, 2007. We seek a mathematician with an established record of research, teaching and advising students. The successful candidate is expected to be a leader whose work will span areas of applied and computational mathematics of interest to the faculty in the Department as well as develop areas that are currently outside the faculty's research.   This position is subject to final university determination on funding.
