Math121 covers most of Chapters 1-6 of the text.  The course assumes you are a good student with good training, that you are interested in mathematics, and that you are willing to work hard.   Homework will be assigned every day.  Class attendance and a strong and punctual effort on the homework are crucial for success in the course.

There will be three class exams during the semester.  Each of these three exams will count 1/6 of the final grade.  There will be a short quiz almost every week; the best 10 of these scores will constitute another 1/6 of your grade.  The final exam will count 1/3 of your grade; it will be given on Friday, May 5, at 3:00 PM.

The official calculator for this course is the TI-83.  The use of calculators may be prohibited on parts of exams. Calculators capable of symbolic manipulation, such as the TI-92, may not be used on quizzes or exams
