Math 305 Syllabus
Instructor: Alexander Barchechat
Class Times: MWF 12:00-12:50pm in 243 Boggs Hall and Thursday 11:00-12:15pm in 212 Herbert Hall.Course Requirements:
· Homework will be assigned every other week and it will be collected every Friday at the beginning of the class. Because I am not a superhero, I will not have the time to grade all of the assigned problems. Hence, I will only grade a few, selected randomly, and the homework will be out of 20 points. No late homework will be accepted.Make sure to work on your problems every single day. It is the only way to get a good understanding of the material.
· Quizzes will be given almost every week on Thursdays during the Lab session and will last about 15 minutes. The purpose of the quizzes is for you to see how well you understand the material and for me to see how well the class is doing as a whole. I will drop the two lowest quiz scores.
· There will be 3 midterms. The tentative dates are Thursday February 12th, Thursday March 18th, and Thursday April 15th. A cumulative final will be given on Thursday May 6th, 8am-12pm. No make up quiz nor final will be given under any circumstance. If you give me a note, several days in advance, signed by the dean, I may consider giving you a make up midterm.
· No calculators will be allowed during the quizzes and midterms.
· Scholastic dishonesty: Anyone caught cheating in any way will automatically receive the grade of F for the course and will have appropriate disciplinary actions taken against them.
