Sections to be Covered: Chapter 1, and Chapter 2.

Course Requirements:

· Homework: There will be two kinds of homework. For the first kind, I will assign some problems at the end of every lecture and I will collect them every other Friday. This kind of homework will have to be submitted in written form, and no late homework will be accepted. Your homework needs to be stapled and written neatly . For the second kind of homework, I will assign a problem during the lectures to one or two of you. The chosen one(s) will have to do the problem on the board in the next lecture.
Make sure to work on your problems every single day. It is the only way to get a good understanding of the material.

· There will be 1 midterm. The tentative date is Wednesday October 13th. A cumulative final will be given on Tuesday December 14th, 8am-12pm. No make up final will be given under any circumstance. (I might actually give a take home final).

· No calculators will be allowed during the midterms. (In topology, what's their use anyway?).

· Scholastic dishonesty: Anyone caught cheating in any way will automatically receive the grade of F for the course and will have appropriate disciplinary actions taken against them.

Grading:
Written Homework: 25%.
Oral Homework: 20%
Midterm: 25%.
Final: 30%.
